Grief and feelings of loss are normal responses to the death of a loved one, estrangement, divorce, chronic illness, and other big life changes. Grief is a natural process of mourning what we've known and the life we had and is unavoidable.
Grief and loss often feel like sadness, emptiness, heartbreak, loneliness, fear, anger, and numbness. It's common for clients to question their faith, searching for the meaning in tragedy and pain. It's also common for clients to feel as if they themselves are a different person, changed by the loss or death. Counseling can help grieving clients continue moving forward in a healthy way.
